Children of Takaya Closing Reception
Saturday, September 10, 4 – 6 p.m.
Please join us for the Children of Takaya closing reception! The celebration will begin in Panorama Park, in Deep Cove, with cultural sharing by the Children of Takaya Dance Group. Stories, songs, dancing, and drumming will be shared on the stage in Panorama Park at 4 p.m. and the reception will follow at the Seymour Art Gallery, just a short walk away.
Parking continues to be a challenge in Deep Cove, as parking spaces are very limited. We recommend using an alternate form of transportation such as public transit or bicycle, carpooling if possible.
If you are taking public transit, you can catch either the 211 Seymour or the 212 Deep Cove from Phibbs Exhange. The bus stop closest to the gallery is the very last stop on both these routes, and is a very short walk from the bus stop. You can plan your trip on Translink’s website here.
If you are driving, here are a few parking options:
- Deep Cove Road on the right hand side before Deep Cove Road turns down into Gallant Avenue
- Three-hour parking — The large parking lot on the east side of Panorama Drive is limited to three-hour parking, and is strictly enforced.
- Myrtle Park — Both Myrtle Park lots are available for parking if the village and overflow lots are full, but these lots also fill quickly in the summer.
- Overflow parking — Available from July 1 through August 28, 2022, these school parking lots offer day parking, but also fill quickly, especially during the weekends.
-
- Cove Cliff Elementary
- Seycove Secondary (weekdays 9 am to 6pm, weekends 7am to 7pm)
There is one accessible parking space in the lot on Panorama Drive and another spot on Gallant Avenue in front of the Deep Cove Cultural Centre.
Check the District of North Vancouver’s website for real-time updates and even more parking information here.
The district of North Vancouver requires that all events in parks be smoke free. Smoking is not permitted at this outdoor event.
